# How do I find a canicross race?

> The Canicompet calendar shows events on a map or in a list. Search by name and filter by date, distance, federation or country to find a race.

Events are in the **Calendar** tab. You can browse them on a **Map** or in a **List**, search for an event by name and narrow the display with filters (dates, distance from you, federation, country).

## The four calendar views

At the top of the screen, four tabs change the display:

- **Map**: upcoming events shown as markers on a map. A strip of thumbnails at the bottom of the screen lets you scroll through them; tap a thumbnail to centre the map on the event, then tap its name to open its page.
- **List**: upcoming events, grouped by month (the number of events in the month is shown in brackets). Each line shows the name, dates and types of race.
- **Results**: past events, with direct access to their results. See [View results](/en/docs/competitor/results/).
- **Past**: past events, which open their event page.

> **NOTE**
On the map, events whose entries are not taken on Canicompet have a grey marker. Their page gives practical information, but you register somewhere else.

## Search for an event by name

Type a few letters in the **Search** field under the tabs. The search covers the event name and applies to both the map and the list.

## Filter events

1. Tap the filter icon to the right of the **Search** field.
2. Turn on the filters you want:
   - **Registration on Canicompet**: shows only events where you register on Canicompet.
   - **Around my position**: then set the maximum distance with the slider (from 50 to 1000 km). The app needs access to your location.
   - **Filter by date**: choose a start month and an end month.
   - **By federations**: select one or more federations.
   - **By countries**: select one or more countries.
3. Tap **Execute** (or **Close**) to apply the filters.

Months with no matching event disappear from the list.

> **TIP**
To be told automatically when an event is published near you, turn on **Geographic Alert** in **Profile** > **Notifications** and draw your area on the map.

## Go straight to a view

Each view has its own address, handy for a bookmark:

- `https://canicompet.com/calendar-map/map` for the map;
- `https://canicompet.com/calendar-map/list` for the list;
- `https://canicompet.com/calendar-map/results` for results;
- `https://canicompet.com/calendar-map/past` for past events.

The menu also has a **Results** shortcut that opens the results view directly.

## Common problems

**"Your position is unknown".** The **Around my position** filter could not get your location. Allow Canicompet to access your location in your phone or browser settings, then apply the filter again.

**I cannot find a race I know about.** Check that no filter is on (date, federation, country, distance) and clear the **Search** field. If the event is over, look in the **Past** tab.

**The list keeps loading.** If the message "Too many simultaneous connections" appears, wait a moment and reload.
