If you do not hold a licence, you will often need a medical certificate or an equivalent to race. Add it in **Profile** > **Medical certificates**: either a photo of a medical certificate less than one year old, or the alternative offered by some federations (health questionnaire or the FFA's Parcours Prévention Santé).

## Which document should I provide?

- **Medical Certificate**: valid for one year from its date.
- **Health questionnaire**: accepted only if the race's federation offers it, and if you answer "NO" to every question.
- **FFA - Health prevention course**: the certificate you get at the end of the FFA course.

When you register, the form shows what the organiser accepts. If the race requires neither a licence nor a certificate, the message "It is not compulsory to have a medical certificate or a license to participate" appears.

## Add a medical certificate

1. Open the **Profile** tab, then **Medical certificates** (**Documents** section).
2. Tap the + button at the bottom right.
3. Leave **Federation proposing an alternative** empty.
4. In the **Medical Certificate** section, tap **Take photo** and photograph the certificate (image or PDF).
5. Wait while it is analysed. Check the **Certificate date**; the **End validity date** is worked out automatically (one year later).
6. Tap the save button at the bottom right.

## Fill in the health questionnaire

1. In the form, choose the race's federation in **Federation proposing an alternative**.
2. If it accepts the questionnaire, the **Health questionnaire** section appears. Answer the 9 questions with the switches. Your answers are not shared.
3. Turn on **I completed the health questionnaire**.
4. Turn on **I answered 'NO' to all questions** if this is the case.
5. The **Date of response to the questionnaire** and the **End validity date** appear. Save.

> **CAUTION**
If you answered "YES" to at least one question, the questionnaire is not enough: you must provide a medical certificate less than 12 months old. The **If you prefer to provide a medical certificate, click here** link takes you straight to the right section.

## Use the Parcours Prévention Santé (FFA)

1. Choose the FFA in **Federation proposing an alternative**.
2. Tap **Complete my health journey** to follow the course on the FFA website.
3. Once you have the certificate, turn on **I completed the health prevention course and I have my diploma**.
4. Enter the **Validity date shown on the diploma**.
5. In **Proof - Diploma photo**, tap **Take photo**.
6. Save.

## Add a document while registering

In the entry form, the **Medical certificate or equivalent** section offers **Add a medical certificate or equivalent** (or **Add** next to **I don't have any document**). The **Add a medical certificate** window opens, already set to the race's federation. Tap **Save** to go back to your entry.

> **TIP**
You can register without a document and add it later from your profile, before entries close.

## Checked by the organiser

The organiser checks your document for each race. In the **Registrations** tab, the document's badge is green if it is validated, orange if it is not yet validated, and red if it is refused. Tap a red badge, then **Fix**. See [Track your entries](/en/docs/competitor/my-registrations/).

## Common problems

**"The analysis of the medical certificate did not identify your first and last name."** This does not block you: check that it is the right document and correct the date if needed.

**"Invalid medical certificate" during an entry.** Its validity period does not cover the event date. Add a more recent certificate.

**"Date is required." or "Field is required."** A date or a photo is missing. Add it before saving.
