Right after you create your account, the **Configuration of your account** screen guides you through six steps: introduction, licence, medical certificate, dogs, notifications and summary. Every step is optional: you can move on with the arrow at the bottom right and complete everything later in your profile.

## The steps

The steps are shown at the top of the screen: **License**, **Medical certificate**, **Your dog(s)**, **Notifications**, **Summary**. Use the arrow at the bottom right to go forward and the arrow at the bottom left to go back.

### 1. Introduction

The **Congratulations !** screen confirms that your account is created and that you are logged in. It reminds you that, to take part in competitions, you need to set up your licence, your medical certificate and your dog's vaccinations.

### 2. Licence

1. If you hold a licence, tap **Add a license**.
2. In the **Add my license** window, take a photo of your licence or import a PDF, then check the details suggested.
3. Tap **Save**. The licence appears under **My licenses**.

No licence? Tap **I don't have a license, next**. Most competitions accept competitors without a licence. Details: [Add a licence](/en/docs/competitor/licence/).

### 3. Medical certificate

If you do not hold a licence and want to race in France, the organiser will often ask for a medical certificate less than one year old on race day, or for you to fill in the health questionnaire.

1. Tap **Add a medical certificate**.
2. Fill in the form, then tap **Save**.

Details: [Medical certificate or health questionnaire](/en/docs/competitor/medical-certificate/).

### 4. Your dogs

To take part in dog competitions, your dog must be registered and vaccinated.

1. Tap **Add a dog**.
2. In **Add my dog**, fill in **Name**, **Chip**, **Breed**, **Birthday** and **Gender**. Turn on **Nordic?** if your dog is a Nordic breed.
3. Tap **Save**. The window then moves on to the dog's vaccinations.
4. Add photos of the vaccinations and tap **Save**, or tap **Close** to do it later.

You can add or update vaccinations at any time. Details: [Add a dog](/en/docs/competitor/add-a-dog/) and [The vaccination passport](/en/docs/competitor/vaccination-passport/).

### 5. Notifications

Choose how Canicompet keeps you informed:

- **Email**: the address that receives emails.
- **News & Updates**: Canicompet changes by email, and news by notification in the app.
- **Race Results**: get told when results are online for an event you entered, **By email** or **By notification on my Phone**.
- **Geographic Alert**: get told when an event is published in an area. Turn the option on, then click on the map to draw the area; finish by clicking the first point.

Tap the arrow at the bottom right to save your choices.

### 6. Summary

The screen confirms that setup is complete. Tap **Open the map** to look for a race. If you created your account during an entry, the **Back to the registration** button takes you back to the form you were filling in.

## Complete it later

Everything offered in the assistant is still available from the **Profile** tab:

- **My licenses** and **Medical certificates** (**Documents** section);
- **Notifications** (**Activity** section);
- your dogs, from the **Dogs** tab.

> **TIP**
You can also add a licence, certificate or dog while registering: the form offers **Add my license**, **Add a medical certificate or equivalent** and **Add my dog**. See [Register for a race](/en/docs/competitor/register/).

## Common problems

**"Your new license is invalid for this event".** This message appears during an entry when the licence season does not cover the event date. Check the **Season** you chose.

**The photo analysis does not find my name.** This does not block you: check that it is the right document and correct the fields by hand before saving.
