You load results from the dashboard, under **Load results**, using a Canichrono file (all races at once) or a CSV file (one race at a time). Once loaded, they are published on the event's results page.

## Open the results upload page

1. Open the event dashboard.
2. Under **Results**, tap **Load results**.

The page has three tabs: **File**, **Preview** and **Errors**.

## Load a Canichrono file

If you timed the race with Canichrono, this is the simplest method.

1. Export the results from Canichrono (see the [timing documentation](/en/docs/timing/manual-timing/)).
2. In the **File** tab, set **Format** to Canichrono.
3. Tap **Select** and choose the exported file.
4. Tap the round rocket button at the bottom right.

The results of all races in the file are loaded, then the event's results page opens.

> **TIP**
During the race, Canichrono can also publish live results. Share the link from **Publish live results** in the dashboard. See [Use the dashboard and publish your event](/en/docs/organizer/dashboard-publish/).

## Load a CSV file

Use CSV if you timed the race with another tool. A CSV file contains a single race.

1. In the **File** tab, set **Format** to CSV.
2. Choose the race under **Test**.
3. Tap **Select** and choose your file.
4. Tap the rocket button: the **Preview** tab shows the lines read.
5. Check the preview.
6. Tap the rocket button again to load the results.
7. When asked "Do you want to load other results?", answer **Yes** to load another race, or **No** to see the results.

> **CAUTION**
Loading a CSV for a race replaces the results already imported by CSV for that race. Fix your file and reload it in full rather than loading only the missing lines.

## CSV file format

- Separator: semicolon (`;`).
- The first line (headers) is ignored.
- One line per competitor.

The columns must be in this order:

| No. | Column | Expected content |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | First name | Text. |
| 2 | Last name | Text. |
| 3 | Sex | `m`, `h`, `M`, `H` or `Homme`; `f`, `w`, `F` or `Femme`. |
| 4 | Year of birth | For example `1992`. |
| 5 | Club | Text. |
| 6 | Federation | Federation acronym or name, or empty. |
| 7 | Licence | Licence number. |
| 8 | Dog name | Text. |
| 9 | Dog breed | Text. |
| 10 | Dog chip | Identification number, digits only. |
| 11 | Start time, run 1 | For example `11:31:30`. |
| 12 | Finish time, run 1 | For example `11:34:21`. |
| 13, 14… | Start and finish of the following runs | One pair of columns per run, in chronological order. |

Times accept tenths or thousandths of a second, for example `11:29:30.181`. An empty time is accepted.

Example lines:

```csv
Prénom;Nom;Sexe;Année de naissance;Club;Fédération;Licence;Chien nom;Chien race;chien puce;Heure départ;Heure d'arrivée
PrénomCoureur1;NomCoureur1;M;2015;club1;FFSLC;licence1;chien1;Croisé Labrador;123451234512432;11:31:30;11:34:21
```

The example download button on the page gives you a complete template file.

> **TIP**
If you prepare the file in a spreadsheet, save it as semicolon-separated CSV. UTF-8 and Windows encodings are accepted.

## Read the errors

If the file contains an error, loading stops and the **Errors** tab opens. It shows the error message, the **Line**, the **Column** and the value found. Fix that cell in your file, then reload it.

## Common issues

- **Error on column 3**: the sex must be `Femme`, `Homme`, `w`, `m`, `h` or `f`.
- **Error on column 4**: the year of birth is not recognized. Use four digits.
- **Error on column 6**: the federation is not recognized. Use its acronym (for example FFSLC) or leave the cell empty.
- **Error on a time column**: use the hours:minutes:seconds format, for example `11:31:30`.
- **"Invalid chip number?"**: some lines have a chip number that is not made of digits only. Check column 10 before loading.
- **"Invalid value" error from column 2 of the first data line**: the separator is probably not a semicolon.
