# Entry and document statuses

> What the payment, waiting list and document validation statuses of a Canicompet entry mean, with the exact labels you see in the app.

A Canicompet entry does not have a single status. It combines a payment status, sometimes a waiting list status, and a validation status for each required document (license, medical certificate, dog passport…). An entry is complete when it is paid and all its documents are validated.

## Complete or incomplete entry

In **My registrations**, your entries are sorted into **Incomplete**, **Complete** and **Past**. The app shows this rule:

> A registration is incomplete if it is not paid, if documents are missing or if the organizer has not yet validated the documents.

When everything is in order, the message **Congratulations! All your registrations are complete.** appears.

## Payment status

| Label shown | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Pay the registration** (button) | The entry is not paid yet. Tap the button to pay. |
| **Paid** | The payment is recorded, either online or marked by hand by the organizer. |
| **Unpaid** | A past entry that was never paid (**Past** tab). |
| **Registration not paid** | Shown to the organizer on the document validation page. |

A successful online payment marks the entry as paid automatically. The organizer can also mark an entry as paid, for example after a payment by check or on site.

> **NOTE**
If the organizer turned on **Payment is required before entries close.**, you get reminders as long as the entry is unpaid. In that case, only paid entries count toward the number of places.

## Waiting list status

When a race is full and the organizer uses a waiting list, the entry goes through three states:

| Technical value | Label shown | What you need to do |
|---|---|---|
| `waiting` | **On the waiting list** | Nothing: wait for a place to free up. |
| `validated` | **On the waiting list - Click to finalize** | The organizer accepted the entry: tap the button to finalize it. You also get an email. |
| `topay` | **On the waiting list - You must pay to finalize it!** | Pay for the entry to confirm it. |

Once the entry is paid, it leaves the waiting list and becomes a normal entry.

## Document status

Each document linked to an entry has its own colored dot:

| Color | Label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Green | **Validated** | The organizer validated the document, or it was validated automatically. |
| Orange | **Not yet validated** | The document has been provided and is waiting for the organizer to check it. |
| Red | **Missing or refused** | The document is missing, or the organizer refused it. |

The documents involved, depending on the race:

## What the organizer does with a document

From **Validate documents**, the organizer has three actions for each document:

| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| **Validate** | The document turns green. |
| **Refused** | The document turns red. The organizer can **Explain the reason to the person**, then tap **Send**. |
| **Reset** | The document goes back to "to be checked". |

The label **Validated by Canicompet** means the document was already validated without any action from the organizer, for example a dog passport validated beforehand. For passports, the **History** button shows past validations, refusals and resets.
