How do I read an event page?

An event page holds everything you need to know before you register: dates, entry status, places left, payment methods, required vaccinations, the organiser’s documents and the list of races with their prices. It is organised in tabs at the top of the screen.

This tab is shown by default. It contains:

  • the event name and dates, and the poster if the organiser provided one (with share buttons);
  • the Registrations box: its status (Open, Closed, Opening soon with the Opening on date, or Setup in progress if the organiser has not finished), the Time limit to register, the number of entrants and, if places are limited, the number of slots remaining or the Waiting list notice;
  • the Register me button, active when entries are open;
  • Organized by: the organising club or clubs;
  • Practical Info: Vaccines required for dogs, accepted Payments (Online, On site…), Contact and Documents to download (rules, map…);
  • the Description written by the organiser.

If the organiser publishes live results, a Live results are available here banner appears at the top.

It lists the event’s races. If there are several types of race, tabs at the top let you switch between them. Each race shows:

  • its type, name and price;
  • its dates and, if given, its distance in km;
  • the 2nd reg. price if the organiser offers a reduced price for a second entry;
  • the Daily license supplement charged to competitors without a licence, if there is one;
  • the number of slots remaining, or Waiting list if the race is full.

Tap a race (or its Register button) to start your entry: see Register for a race.

It shows the list of participants by race; a selector at the top lets you change race. Depending on the case, sub-tabs appear:

  • Validated: completed entries;
  • Not finalized: unpaid entries;
  • Waiting: the waiting list, if the organiser makes it public.

Tap a participant to open their public page.

They appear only if the organiser has filled them in:

  • Map: the event location, links to OSM, Google, Apple, Bing and Waze to get there, and the GPX tracks of the courses. Select a track to see its distance, elevation gain and loss, profile, and to download it.
  • Chat: the event’s discussions.
  • Results: the rankings, see View results.
  • Meals and Housing: the organiser’s offers, with their price, how many are left and the booking deadline.

The bell button, at the bottom right, opens the Notifications window:

  • Add to my calendar downloads an .ics file for your personal calendar;
  • Be informed when registration opens, New discussions and Race results published, each By email or By push notification.

Tap Save preferences to confirm.

“Event not found”. The link is wrong or the event has been deleted. Look for it in the calendar.

No Register tab. The organiser does not take entries on Canicompet, or has not finished setting up the event. Read the description and the Contact details.

“Can’t register”. When you tap a race, several messages can appear:

  • “It is not possible to register, registrations are closed?”: entries are not open for this race.
  • “You cannot register, registrations are limited to certain licensees only…”: check that you are logged in to the right account and that your licence appears in Profile > My licenses.

“No events available yet.” Tap Contact organizer to ask your question.
