Email or notify your entrants
To write to your entrants, open the dashboard, tap Send emails / notifications, then create an email with the + button. You choose the recipients by criteria (payment, missing documents…), schedule the send date and turn sending on. Each recipient gets the email and a notification in the app.
Common uses
Section titled “Common uses”- Send the roadbook or practical information to all paid entrants.
- Remind entrants whose medical certificate or vaccinations are missing.
- Remind unpaid entrants to pay for their entry.
Create an email
Section titled “Create an email”- Open the event dashboard.
- Under Communication, tap Send emails / notifications.
- Tap the + button at the bottom right.
- In the General tab, fill in:
- Name of the email: an internal name, for example “Roadbook for participants”;
- Subject of the email: the subject line recipients see;
- Email receiving replies: the address that will receive replies.
- Tap the save button at the bottom right.
After this first save, the Content, Attachments, Recipients, Planning and Test tabs appear.
Write the content
Section titled “Write the content”- Open the Content tab.
- Write your message in the editor (headings, bold, lists, links).
- Save.
An unsubscribe link is added automatically at the bottom of each email.
Add attachments
Section titled “Add attachments”- Open the Attachments tab.
- Enter a Display name and choose the file (PDF, images…).
- Tap Add another file to attach more.
Choose the recipients
Section titled “Choose the recipients”- Open the Recipients tab.
- Tap Configure recipient criteria.
- Set the criteria. The number of Potential recipients updates at the top of the window.
- Tap Save configuration.

“The list of recipients will be automatically updated when sending emails to take into account new subscribers.”
In the list, each recipient has the label Sent or Unsubscribed. The Send now button sends the email right away to one specific recipient.
Send a test email
Section titled “Send a test email”- Open the Test tab.
- Tap Send a test email.
- Enter your address, then tap Send.
An entry is picked so the email is complete, but it is only sent to the address you entered.
Schedule the send
Section titled “Schedule the send”- Open the Planning tab.
- Choose the Scheduled Send Date.
- Turn on Enable sending. “Emails will only be sent if this option is active”
- Save.
A badge shows the email’s status: Disabled, Enabled or Sent.
What entrants receive
Section titled “What entrants receive”- An email sent on behalf of the event, with your attachments. If someone else made the entry, that person receives it too.
- A notification in the Canicompet app, which opens the message.
- A link to unsubscribe. People who unsubscribe no longer receive these emails.
Common issues
Section titled “Common issues”- “Unable to save”: the name, the subject or the reply address is empty (“The field is required.”).
- The email was not sent: check that Enable sending is on and that the Scheduled Send Date has passed.
- A recipient is marked Unsubscribed: they unsubscribed from your emails. Contact them another way.
- Nobody in the list: no entrant matches the criteria. Widen them, for example by also ticking Unpaid registrations.
