Results CSV import format

The results CSV file has one line per competitor, with columns separated by semicolons. It starts with ten identity columns, then a start time and a finish time for each run of the race. The first line is a header that the import ignores, and each file covers a single race.

Rule Value
Separator semicolon ;
Text delimiter straight double quote " (optional)
First line header, always ignored
Races per file only one, chosen in the Test field when you import
Encoding UTF-8 (with or without BOM), Windows-1252, UTF-16 or ISO-8859-1
Spaces removed at the start and end of each value
Ignored lines lines where both first name and last name are empty

The header line is ignored, so you can name the columns as you like. The names below are those of the sample file, which uses French headers.

In the gender column, Homme, M, H, h and m mean male, while Femme, F, f and w mean female.

The pairs of time columns follow the chronological order of the race’s runs: the first pair is for the run that starts earliest. Each line must have a pair of columns for every run, even if they are empty.

HH:MM:SS 11:34:21
HH:MM:SS.mmm 11:31:21.192
HH:MM:SS:mmm 11:31:21:192
DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS 12/04/2026 11:34:21

HHhMM'SS 11h34'21

Commas are accepted instead of dots for fractions of a second. These are times of day, not durations: the race time is the difference between finish and start.

This file suits a race with a single run. The app also offers a sample file to download from Load results.

Each line is linked to an entry in the race when the first name, last name and year of birth exactly match an entrant. In that case, the entrant’s details are reused and their category is calculated from their full date of birth. Lines with no match are imported as they are, with a category calculated from the year of birth given in the file.

If the dog columns are empty and the line matches an entrant, the first dog of their entry is used.

  1. The first pass shows a Preview of the first lines of the file. The app flags dog chip numbers that are not made only of digits with the message “Invalid chip number?”.
  2. The second pass imports the file. All results already present for the chosen race are replaced.
  3. If there is an error, nothing is imported and the Errors tab shows the Line, the Column and the faulty value.

The full process is described in Import results.
